GoJak Dollies Lift and Carry Crashed Cars Easily

By admin | Dec 5, 2008

GoJak® is an automotive tool no body shop should be without. Simply put, GoJak® allows disabled or crashed cars to be moved with ease – each tire riding on a dolly made maneuverable by four casters. Connecticut bodyman, Al Coccaro, inventor of GoJak® calls it “the faster caster system.” What makes GoJak® fast and separates it from other tire dollies is the built-in bi-directional linear foot-action ratchet that jacks a car off the ground allowing it to be moved on the dollies in any direction - even sideways - to improve body shop traffic flow.

Leverage applied by depressing the ratcheting foot pedal progressively “squeezes” the vehicle tire between the dolly rollers until the car tire lifts smoothly off the ground. The dolly rollers touch only the tire and never contact the vehicle’s wheel, frame or undercarriage. GoJak’s simplistic mechanical-only design means that there is no electric power, compressed air or slow and leaky hydraulics to fret over.

GoJak® or GoJack as it is often known can be purchased in three sizes and boasts a limited warranty for a full two years from the date of purchase covering factory defects in material and workmanship. GoJak is built and backed by The Zendex Tool Corporation, Danbury, Connecticut.where it is housed in a state-of-the-art, 34,000 square foot manufacturing facility.

Model 6200 is the strongest of the three sizes and is available in both left hand and right hand styles. A set of four is capable of lifting vehicle weights to 6,200 lbs. (1,550 lbs. per wheel), including light duty trucks and SUVs with tires up to 13 inches wide and 36 inches tall.

Model 5000 is perhaps the oldest and most common GoJak® . A favorite tool of body shops since Coccaro invented it in 1984, the GoJak® Model 5000 has capability of moving a large percentage of passenger cars and small trucks sold today. As model number 5000 implies, a set of four can lift and move a 5000 pound vehicle, each dolly bearing up to 1,250 lbs of the weight, and carrying a tire up to 9 inches wide and 32 inches tall. Like the bigger model above, the Model 5000 can be purchased in left-hand or right-hand styles.

GoJak® Model 4500 Super-Slick was developed with auto racers in mind. Capable of accommodating tires as wide as 20 inches and up to 36 inches tall, 1,125 lbs. can be carried on each of four dollies making it easy to maneuver race cars up to 4,500 lbs. Twin rollers on each axle guide the tire smoothly up and over the axle support bar to lift wider tires. This auto jack / auto dolly has a 5-degree offset pedal angle for additional foot-to-tire clearance.

When GoJaks are not in use they can be stored on the 456 Rack or on Wall-Mount Brackets. Other GoJak® accessories include Tow Truck Mounting Brackets and the Weather Protector Jacket.
